This module would be very useful for D9 installations too.

I'm uploading a patch fixing a couple of errors. The code seems to be working for me.

I contacted @micropat to see if this can get committed and pushed to a 8.x-1.13 release.

The 'Drupal 9 porting info' field on the project edit page also need to be completed.
